Other Info | He initially enlisted in the army reserves (5th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment) on the 26th August 1911 in Birmingham. Enlisted in to the regular army at the age of 17 years 10 months on the 5th January 1912. Posted to 1st Battalion at Parkhurst I.O.W. on the 10th January 1912. Posted to Depot Battalion on the 22nd January 1913. Posted to the 2nd Battalion on the 6th March 1913. After he was wounded in his left arm at Gheluvelt on the 31st October 1914, and lost power and sensation in his left hand he was posted to the 5th Battalion on the 31st December 1914. He was eventually discharged due to being unfit to serve. |
