Other InfoDischarged due to sickness. Richard Badham (Acting Sergeant) died in St. Paul's Hospital, Cheltenham on 10th July 1963, aged 75. He enlisted as Boy R. Lacey (7059) in 1902 (name changed to Badham in 1911). He served in the Band of the 2nd Battalion in Bloemfontein (South Africa), Ceylon. Ahmednagar, Jhansi and Aldershot. In WW1 he was severely wounded and invalided out. For a time he was P.T. instructor at Dean Close School, Cheltenham. Later he was a professional Orchestral Drummer in Lancashire, having been Kneller Hall trained. He will be remembered as a very useful 2nd Battalion lightweight boxer. Shortly before he died he had to have a leg amputated and he was most grateful to Brigadier B. C. Senhouse Clarke for seeing him frequently. Brigadier B. C. S.
