Other Info | Awarded Distinguished Conduct Medal (London Gazette 5th August 1915). His citation reads; "For conspicuous gallantry and ability on the 17th May 1915 near Richebourg. When the officer in charge of the machine gun section was dangerously wounded by a shell, and he himself badly wounded in the foot, he took charge and behaved with the greatest coolness and bravery, unloading and putting away the parts of the gun himself, and not until he had ensured its safety did he allow his wound to be dressed." - the officer was Lieut. F. C. F. Biscoe who later died of his wounds. |
