Other Info | He was born in 1899. After his initial training with the Cheshire Regiment he was post to France in March 1918 as a lance Corporal and was posted to the 2/8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the Lys front on the 12th April 1918 and served in a Lewis Gunner section of 'B' Company. He was demobilised in 1919 and rejoined the National Provincial Bank, rising to become manager of the Cheltenham Branch. In old age he moved in to a nursing home in cheltenham and was awarded the Legion d'Honneur by the French. |
