Other Info | Served with the 4th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment for 3 years prior to the First World War in Bareilly, India. In the spring of 1914 the 4th Battalion moved from Bareilly (where the battalion had been stationed for 7 years) by rail to Calcutta and thence by sea to Burma, where the companies found pleasant quarters in Meiktila and Thayetmyo. The 4th Battalion landed in England on the 1st February 1915. Died age 21. Killed in action during the Battle of Krithia. The Helles Memorial, Turkey (including Gallipoli) - Panel 104 to 113. Son of James and Ellen Jarvis, of Ivy Cottage, Hanley Castle, Worcestershire. |
