Other Info | Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) citation: During the heavy fighting of 1918 he showed great coolness and personal gallantry and judgement on many occasions. It was largely due to his work and fine example to his men that the regimental transport was enabled to escape through heavily shelled villages. (London Gazette 3rd June 1919) . Served with the 1st Battalion before and during WW1, after the war he transferred to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Later awarded the civilian MBE for long service as a chief clark to King shropshire Light Infantry. |
