Served with 'B' Company, 10th Battalion. Killed on Sunday 3rd October 1915 at 6am when he fell victim to a German sniper whilst on sentry duty. Died age 38. Son of William Holmes Smith and Sarah Smith; husband of Mary Emily Smith, of 188 High Street, Lye, Stourbridge. Brown's Road Military Cemetery, Festubert, Pas de Calais, France - grave Ref: I.
