Other Info | Enlisted in January 1916. Joined the 3rd Battalion in France around the 24th July 1916. Died age 20. Killed instantaneously by a shell bursting in his trench. Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Richard Turley, of the Old Furance, Blakeney, Gloucestershire. The Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France - Pier and Face 5 A and 6 C. The photo of him show him wearing the wrong Cap which shows a badge from the Somerset Light Infantry - it is possible he simply borrowed the cap to have his photo taken. |
