He Attested into the 4th (Militia) Battalion Worcestershire Regiment 6th August 1899. Embodied on the 9th February 1901. He served in South Africa (Boer War) from 21st December 1901. Awarded the Queens South Africa Medal & clasps Cape Colony and South Africa 1902. He was discharged (Time Expired) 5th June 1905. Was recalled for service at the start of WW1. He was killed in action. His grave is at NOEUX-LES-MINES COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, Pas de Calais, France - grave Ref: IV. A. 9. |
