Other Info | His full birth name was Lionel Courtenay Kerwood. Educated at Malvern College, Worcestershire. Originally served with the 2nd Volunteer Battalion Worcestershire Regiment as a Lieutenant and received a commission with the 8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 1st April 1908. Was a Solicitor and served in the Worcestershire Territorials (8th Battalion). Died age 30. Son of the late Alfred Kerwood and Edith Henrietta Kerwood of Redditch, Worcestershire. Temporary commanded the 1/8th Battalion from the 12th to 25th September 1916. On the 25th September 1916 he was transferred to command the 13th Cheshire Regiment. The Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France - Pier and Face 5 A and 6 C. |
