Other InfoPosted as missing between the 28th May 1918 and the 6th June 1918. Was captured and became a Prisoner of War. Munster POW camp. Details: After a shell attack by the Germans while he was in Flanders. He and one other soldier survived the shelling. He was buried under rubble and heard people digging him out. He thought it was other men of the Worcestershire Regiment but as they got closer to him he heard German accents and he knew he was done for. He was in the POW camp until the end of the war. He said they treated the British well in the camp and he had no real complaints. He was put in a mining detail doing hard labour. There was some good out of it as after the war he moved to Canada and became a miner using what he learned while in Germany as a POW. He was a miner until he died in Toronto, Canada in 1960 of lung cancer.
